2013 Claydon Christmas Event

SUNDAY 1st DECEMBER 2013, ST JAMES THE GREAT CHURCH

One of the highlights of Claydon’s annual calendar will be held once again this year on Sunday 1st December.

Do come along and experience the true essence of Christmas at this year’s Christmas Tree Lighting and Remembrance Event.

This special and joyful occasion will see a visit from Father Christmas, the village children singing and magically lighting the village Christmas tree. The Cropredy Hand Bell Ringers will delight us with Christmas songs, as will the tuneful Miltown Singers.

This year will also see a surprise new musical guest and a star from the West End stage – it really is not to be missed!

The event starts in the Church Room from 3.30pm onwards and then continues around the tree, where the children will sing a carol. We’d love to see as many children there as possible – so please contact Kate Wicks on 07809 678061 for more details. All children are welcome!

Golden stars will adorn the village Christmas tree with your loved one’s names on them (cherished pets included). These will be made in advance, so please let Lisa Simmons know as soon as possible how many you would like and the name and (short) message to be written on each star. Either call Lisa Simmons on 690155, pop a note through the door at 5 Bignolds Close, or email Lisa Simmons. Once again, we’re asking for a £3 donation per star. All proceeds will be split 50:50 between St James the Great Church Restoration Fund and this year’ special charity (to be announced).

Mulled wine, tea, coffee and homemade cakes will all be served. We rely on your generosity, so please, if you could help in any way by baking a cake, or some mince pies or donating a bottle of wine etc that would be most appreciated.

We look forward to seeing you there!
