Thank you to everyone who helped and attended this year’s summer fete and dog show at the playing field. We were lucky and had great weather and a record attendance to the event! It was lovely to see such a wide range of dogs there from within the village and beyond.
This year we came together as a village and have raised funds for the Church, the bus shelter and new play equipment for the playing field. We took a record amount of over £1,200 on the day. With the monies that we have raised from previous events, and subject to being accepted for match funding the Playing Field Management Committee are delighted to say that they will have enough money to purchase and install the basket swing for the village this year! We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who helped put the marquee up, run the stalls, collect books and tombola items, put up posters, sell raffle tickets, bake cakes, tidy up after the event and many, many more things. We could not have done it without the group of helpers and of course all the people who attended on the day.
Many thanks Pamela, Emma, Emily, Garry and Mike

Over 110 people attended and enjoyed the excellent event laid on by the Claydon Playing Field Management Committee and its supporters. The BBQ, licensed Bar, Nocturnal Welly Wanging, Homemade soups, Ales, Mulled Wine, Bonfire themed music, free sweets for children, raflle, Judge the Guy and an amazing firework display all helped to ensure the event was enjoyed by all who braved the windy weather. 45 attempts were made at becoming this year’s Welly Wanging champions. The full listing of the Welly Wanging results can be seen as an image in the Gallery. New distance records were set in each category with David Wicks, Tom Jackson & Charlie Wicks retaining their 2012 titles. Welcome to a new ladies champion & record holder Emily Shrimpton. Wangers enjoyed 'better' wanging conditions this year with less wet mud/grass underfoot, a less wet welly and the high potential for wind assistance. Rev Hilary Campbell kindly judged the guys, awarding 1st place to Caitlin & Archie, 2nd place to Ellie, Hannah & Noah and 3rd place to Hannah & Matthew.
The PFMC team would like to send a BIG thank you to all those who helped on the night, supported by attending or donated (money / time / food) in advance. With your help, this years event has provided to be even better than previous ones, a great achievement! THANK YOU...

Sunday 31st March 2013 - Claydon Easter Egg Hunt. Around 10 children and their parents came along to the Claydon Easter Egg Hunt and braved the freezing cold weather to spend a fun hour hunting for eggs and playing together. Thanks to everyone who came along and also thanks to Jenny Jones who was able to source some bargain eggs from Cadburys which meant that all the children went home with their pockets bulging full of chocolate!

The full listing of the Welly Wanging Results can be found in this PDF file. Our summer mens & ladies champions (David & Bethan) now hold the daytime & night time 'boots'. Under 16's (throwing the adult boot) champion is: Tom Jackson. Under 12's champion is: Hannah Bryer. Under 7's champion is: Charlie Wicks. No Claydon records were broken as the wet conditions prevented competitors getting a firm grip on the situation. Mens record remains at 26.6m and Ladies at 18.8m.
Sunday 19th Aug 2012 - Claydon Games An excellent event was blessed with one of the hottest days of the summer for the inaugural Claydon Games.
